Update from Sophia's 6 month Dr Appt!

Sophia at 6 Months

She's still our big pun'kin! She now weighs in officially at 21 pounds 5 oz, and she's almost 28 inches long. She's proportional, but still above the 100th percentile for both.

We discussed her eating, and our plan is to up her solids. 2-3 oz a feeding, 2 times a day. Hopefully this won't cause a strange increase in her formula intake like it did last time we were feeding her solids twice a day.

That's about as eventful as the appointment went. Sophia is doing great otherwise!

18 weeks (late!)

Age - 18 Weeks

Weight - Alright, so seriously. I weighed her last night and I swear it came out to be 20.5 pounds. I am not feeding her fertilizer. I don't know why she's such a chunky monkey!!

Height - I would guess she's really long, but I missed the pedi appointment so we won't know until the 28th. :-)

Sleeping habit - She sleeps some nights for a straight 10 hours, other nights she sleeps for about 6 hours, eats, and then wakes up again for the day around 8-10ish.

Eating habits - Well we tried avocado's last week, and that didn't go over to well. But now we're on to pears and she loves pears. Three nights in a row now and she eats her oz of pears with cereal like it's no one's business.

Cutest Moment of the Week - Laughing. She like throws her whole body into the laughs. And then startles herself. It's hilarious. Here's a video.

Milestones - Oh my! She rolled over twice in a row yesterday. I had her on her belly while I went to make a bottle (on the floor of course, because you can't fall off the floor-seriously, they tell you that). And I look over and she's on her back talking. SO I go and flip her over again, and go back in the kitchen and watch....and FLIP! I will keep working with her, but I think she's going to be a rolling pro very very shortly.

Firsts - Real Food

*I missed last weeks pedi appointment. I own it, it was my fault for making a morning appointment. We rescheduled for the 28th. I will have a confirmation on her weight and info on her length at that time.

17 Weeks

*This will be the last post of the day.

Age - 17 Weeks

Weight - I haven't weighed her since last week when I got 18.5 pounds. Her eating has slowed down. So it may be fluctuating.

Height - She was 26 inches last time we measured 4 weeks ago.

Sleeping habit - She's still a good sleeper. Or back to a good sleeper. Depending on how you look at it. She puts herself to sleep for naps and to bed at night.

Eating habits - We are doing real food this weekend. We may wait until Sunday just because Friday and Saturday are both going to be pretty busy days...and I don't want too much going on that day.

Cutest Moment of the Week - So many. This one is cute and a little nerve wracking. She has added the sound "Aaaaaahhhh" to her list of sounds. We've covered "Oooooo" and "uuuuuu" and sometimes there's sounds that sound like "ggghhhuuuuuuu" But the "Aaaaahhhhhh" is new. And it's the same sound she makes when she's upset. But when I go to her swing or where ever she is when making these sounds....she's happy and smiling. And when I make the sound back to her she lights up. The "Ooooooo" and "Ggggggghhhhhuuuuu" were a lot easier to deal with than this new sound.

Milestones - She's doing everything MORE, but I don't know that she's doing anything NEW.

16 Weeks

Age - 16 Weeks

Weight - When I did the ghetto weigh in she came in at 18.5 pounds. I understand how crazy that seems, as do my arms.

Height - She was 26 inches last time we measured 3 weeks ago.

Sleeping habit - We're back to waking up between 2 and 4 and then waking up between 7 and 9.

Eating habits - We aren't doing the spoon fed cereal this week. I was way super sick....and I've been way super tired. Since we're not worried about it, I'm not stressed about skipping it.

Cutest Moment of the Week - She belly laughs like a little chubber (which she IS!). I love it, it makes my heart turn to goo....and I sang "Mommy, Daddy, Sooophia" over and over again today just to hear it!)

Milestones - Laughing. So amazing!

Firsts - Again, real laughing. I can't even describe the cuteness. Her chubby cheeks push her eyes closed. It's so funny!!

15 Weeks

Age - 15 Weeks

Weight - A solid 17.5 pounds.

Height - She was 26 inches last time we measured 2 weeks ago.

Sleeping habit - She's had quite a fun week. Three nights of 12 hours of sleep, and 2 nights of waking up every 2.5-3 hours. Whew. Fun.

Eating habits - She's having fun with eating cereal with a spoon. Two times this week she's done a great job, two times she hasn't wanted anything to do with it. She's still young, it's still not something we're stressing over.

Cutest Moment of the Week - She is LOVING her jumperoo. She plays in it for about an hour a day. She is loving the "standing" that she can do in it!

Milestones - Eating with a spoon has been a fun new milestone. Along with playing more!

Firsts - First 12 hour sleep stretch! First time playing in the jumperoo!

12 weeks

Age - 12 Weeks (seriously where has the time gone?!)

Weight - I did a ghetto weigh-in this afternoon and she weighed 16 lbs!

Height - We'll see in a week!

Sleeping habit - We're getting six hour stretches! YAY!

Eating habits - She is still a chunkster. As if you can't tell. So obviously she's still eating quite well!

Cutest Moment of the Week - Halloween! She was the cutest darn flower of 09!

Milestones - She's loving sitting up. She holds on to my fingers and pulls herself up.

Firsts - She had her first halloween.

11 Weeks Old

Age - 11 Weeks

Weight - I did a ghetto weigh-in this afternoon and she's about 15.5 pounds according to that.

Height - She was 23.5 inches at her 2 month appointment. (haven't checked since)

Sleeping habit - Since the two day feeding fest at the end of last week. Sleep has been good to us. I find she's not much of a morning person....which is good because neither is her Mommy.

Eating habits - She is still a chunkster. As if you can't tell. So obviously she's still eating quite well!

Cutest Moment of the Week - The smiles she gives me when I go to her room to get her when she's been crying. Ugh. I just can't help but kiss her all over before I feed her.

Milestones - We're working on sitting up. We still have plenty of time. But it's something she seems to enjoy.

Firsts - In the past week she went to the pumpkin patch for the first time. She loved it. Well, that is if the word loved means slept right through it.

10 Weeks Old (ok 10 weeks and two days)

I picked this up from some other mommy's that I know that blog. I am going to try to remember to do this weekly.

Age - 10 weeks 2 days

Weight - 15 ish pounds.

Height - She was 23.5 inches at her 2 month appointment.

Sleeping habit - Oh dear. Sleep. That thing that seems to escape us if she doesn't meet with it at just the right moment. Until this week she was sleeping for 5 hours and then taking a bottle and sleeping for a few more hours, a bottle and then sleeping for a few more hours. Now, it's a 2 hour fight to get her to sleep, then she wakes up at least once more during the night to eat. Gotta love a growth spurt!

Eating habits - We're in the middle of a growth spurt. She hate 8 6oz bottles in 12 hours. Do the math. It's A LOT of formula!! We give her a bottle with rice cereal in it at her first feeding in the night. At first we were giving it to her in her last bottle before bed and her first night bottle, but it made no difference in how long she slept after she first went to bed.

Cutest Moment of the Week - The smiles. The melt your heart turn you into goo smiles. It melts me to the core.

Milestones - We survived a "wonder week" and were shuttled right into a growth spurt. I still have all my hair, I consider THAT a milestone. But in reality this past week she's smiled a big smile for the first time (and I was able to get one on camera) and she put herself to sleep (this was during the one and a half day break between WW and GS)
